Gas Masks / Respirators for Insulation Applicators

Organic Vapor Cartridges & Particulate Filters

Air and Gas Masks (Respirators) can protect the user by removing contaminants in the air using a filter, cartridge or combination.

  • Gas masks – with the appropriate gas or vapor cartridges – are also known as “air-purifying respirators” because they can clean chemical gases, vapors and particulates out of the air – as you breathe.

  • Air-purifying gas masks are different from Atmosphere-supplying gas masks, which use a source (powered air supply) other than the air surrounding the user.

  • Respirators of this type include particulate respirators, which filter out airborne particles; and gas masks (with cartridges) which filter out chemicals, gases and vapors.

    FirstInformation to know:

  • Which respirator / filter / cartridge combination is right for each environment depends on many factors.

  • What are the contaminants? Are they gases or vapors, or are they particulates?

  • What are the contaminant concentrations? How do you discover the level of concentration?
